Love my Friends!

I have been blessed with a lot of close special friends and I love them all for different reasons.
Today I am going to share some older photos of me and two special friends who I am going to hang out with for a couple days! We are going to have sleepovers and do all the fun girl stuff! I can't wait! This will be my first time away from Buzzbee since we were married.
So, here are some memories of these two special friends!

My Wedding

Now I will tell you a bit about my two friends Carrie and Brittney.

Carrie and Brittney are two of my oldest friends I believe. We have known each other since we were about 4 years old, although Brittney and I didn't really become friends until highschool. Carrie remembers me telling her I was 2 years older than her when we were 5 years old. I wasn't. I don't know what possessed me to say that.. I think I meant 2 weeks. I loved sitting with Carrie in church because she had piles of polly pockets! I always wanted a polly pocket. Carrie also remembers me breaking a pearl necklace of hers when we were young.. I guess I was chasing her and grabbed it. SORRY! haha
Carrie and I used to hang out a lot with K-She who was usually mean to us.. mostly carrie.. but we still loved her anyways. Don't worry. she changed a lot. I love to remember K-she's younger days.. hahaha. too hilarious! She was mostly just bossy.
Carrie and Brittney went to a different Highschool until Gr. 11 when their school closed down and they came to mine! Yay!
Britt and I had french class together and also fashions class. This is where we became friends. My friends really made highschool awesome! We had SUCH great times!
Carrie and I had world issues class together..WHAT a class..We watched that show "Talking with Americans" or whatever it was called every monday.. Why? I have no idea.. just to have a laugh. our teacher had rocks in his head.. literally. That's another story for another time.
Since then we have done a lot together! a lot!
We have been to Ukraine on missions trips, camping trips, holiday parties, hangouts on most weekends and then when it came to college Britt and I both attended Spring Arbor University where we hung out even more!
We have really all been such great lifelong friends so far and don't intend to let the friendship slip away.
SO for the next few days We will be back together again and making some new memories!!!
I will post pictures and tell stories.
Gotta go. Dew is done his breakfast. Time for outside play!

A thing called Patience...

Today I learned that a little thing called patience can really go a long way, especially in marriage. Buzzbee is the sweetest man in the world but today I was irritated. Not really with him, but just the stress of everything going on at the moment and me not communicating clearly. The interesting thing is that the message at church was all about communication. How important it is in marriages and other relationships. To help each other grow we need to communicate these things to each other in a loving, kind way.

The analogy Dr. Bracy gave today was great. He is a little on the heavier side and his doctor was a fat man. And he loved him. Not once did this overweight doctor tell Doc Bracy that he needed to lose weight. Well that doctor moved out of town and Dr. Bracy had to get a new one. Unfortunately the new doctor was skinny and did notice Dr.Bracy's weight and wanted him to lose some of it.

This is just like in marriages. If we were both fat doctors, neither of us would say anything about the issue. But we are to help each grow, become more balanced and become better for God's purpose.
I found this incredibly exciting! Buzzbee is going to help me be a better person and grow in Christ and I will help him with the strength and guidance God gives us.

So back to where my patience, or lack there of, comes in. Buzzbee is a little more laid back than me.. actually suprising because I have always been very very laid back. But since about 2 years ago I have slowly become more uptight and losing my patience quicker. I think it had to do with roommates in college. Not to say I didn't love living with the girls I have in the past, I really did! but I think growing up I had always been super laid back, easy going and patient because no one really tested my patience except my brother maybe.

After living with people in close proximity I had to compromise the way I wanted to do things, or listen to others tell me how or what I should do. Those were the college years. Now that I married things are a lot smoother but I do tend to get uptight. I do lose my patience, but I do not have a temper. I have never had a temper but losing my patience results in either saying something I didn't really mean or a tear fest.

Today it was a tear fest. I felt overwhelmed with the work I have ahead of me and the unknown. It's a little unlike me to fear what is coming next but today I felt it. I know God has gone ahead of me each day and knows what's ahead. "When he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them: and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice." John 10: 4.
But today I needed that reminder. Buzzbee was the one to remind me of God's faithfulness and that everything would get done so not to worry. The point at which I lost my patience I just cried and cried. Buzzbee just let me get it all out and held me. He's wonderful.
So today was a great example of helping each other become more balanced. I needed to relax a little and Buzzbee was that example and helped me when I needed to chill out. I also have come to realize that I need to spend more time in prayer and ask God to help me with these flaws of mine.

That's all for now. I will post about the dinner in a little bit.
See ya!

Company's Coming!

I am SO excited. Buzzbee and I are having our first (kind of second if you include boys game night one time) but the first "dinner" we are hosting!
I am quite excited because I am going to make homemade pizza, cheesy bread, chips and dip, salad, pumpkin gingerbread trifle for dessert and cinnamon coffee, tea or pumpkin lattes!! I hope everything turns out alright.

oh yah, this is whats for dessert... or something similar

Then we will either play a game..or watch a movie. A movie might be easier with food eating food..not sure. We will see what everyone feels like doing.

I have come to love cooking and baking. I tend to mess things up a lot but I am learning. I have a tendency to burn or overcook things.. that is my downfall.. and its a big one. Although.. the other day I made a mock apple pie.. and it was not cooked enough. It wasn't the greatest anyways. I have to find the recipe my mom used.
I made "impossibly easy pumpkin pie" last night from Betty Crocker. It was very easy! Although my pie pan is very deep and this makes cooking it difficult. The outside gets cooked a lot faster than the middle.. uck.. I think I may need to buy a new pie pan.
I have just been home making some thank you cards and now I really must be off to clean!

Games

I love games. Any kind of sport, card, and board game. I love. I am trying to come up with ideas for a triple date and also maybe double date with a couple of our other friends.
I really would love to go bowling. That way Buzzbee and I can be on a team and compete against others. We have learned it's not so good for us to compete against each other.
Another idea that has come to mind is the game crokinole! We had a crokinole board at home and once a year during my highschool years our youth group would have a crokinole tournament! It was a lot of fun!
SOO that is what I am on a search for! a crokinole board!

Does anyone have one??
Where could I get one? ideas?
Do you have any fun game ideas?

I am posting a lot later than I anticipated. The day got away from me as cleaning, dishes, dinner and baking came ahead of my blogging.

I am pretty sleepy tonight. So I am keeping it light. I will post more tomorrow morning when I am feeling fresh. Today I will post about the early beginnings of my freshman year at Spring Arbor University.

The picture below is my "core group". The group of students I was to be friends with the first semester and to help get acclimated with the college lifestyle. Just by looking at this picture you can probably tell we all are very different which made our group so much fun.

We had a crazy Felice girl who is still one of my great friends. She is on the far left of the picture. Felice and I were friends right from the start and would hang out late at night and sing. We would walk around in the snow outside and sing Christmas songs and whatever songs came to our heads.

We had a few loud girls! haha, of course I loved them but I myself was on the quieter side along with the redhead Allison and Erica in the yellow bandana. The loud girls were just loud and crazy and fun. They helped us get to know everyone faster. The boys... well they were all.. interesting to say the least. The guy on the far right is Bobby, our core instructor. Now he is a character! I ended up going on a missions trip with him to Mexico during Spring break. That's a story for another time.

So At the beginning of the school year each core group goes to a farm up north for some bonding time.
This picture is taken just as we are about to leave campus!

When we arrived to the farm we hiked out into the woods and made a fort? with the supplies we were given. This is the girls fort and we slept hear for the night. It was October and it was freeeeezzing!!

Core 13!

The Girls! There is me on the far right in the black.

So I thought I had more pictures on here but I guess I will have to wait until tomorrow to get more. I also have a video that I might upload if I can find it. Sorry this is really only half a post, but I think I will still post it tonight since I haven't posted anything in a while.

Also, for those of you who don't know by hubby is looking for a job and may have found one! He is working right now as a server at the cafe but he has degree and needs to use it. It's a job at the hospital and he is really excited about it. I really hope and pray he gets it and if you have a moment pray for him and this job. It would be really good for us. Thanks!
I will be back tomorrow
Goodnight!

I'm thinking...

Bonjour!
sorry I haven't posted at all this weekend. Had trouble with the internet on friday and the weekend has been super busy! I am going to have a nice warm bubble bath while I do my devotion and think of what to write for my blog today.
So check back in a bout an hour or two.
See ya later!

Fall Fashion

Check it out! I was reading With Love, Jamie and she posted this! So cool and I am planning on participating. You should too! It will be fun. Click on the button on my sidebar to find out more. I was too excited to even find out more information for myself before I posted this so I can't tell you much. The button on this post doesn't work because I don't know what I am doing.

So what are you wearing this fall?

under the open sky tunic top
Ruche: I REALLY like this tunic. It's sort of romantic. I really really like it.

ten minutes to hoot o' clock owl watch necklace in brass
Ruche: So Whimsical. I would wear this.
knowledge blooming backpack
Ruche: If I still needed a backpack I would choose this one.
forever yours locket necklace
Ruche: I love lockets. I don't have one, but I like them all. This one reminds me of something. I think my mom used to have one like this.
<a href="http://emeryjo.blogspot.com%22%3e%3cimg/ src="http://i196.photobucket.com/albums/aa122/emeryjo/fallfashionbutton1.png%22%3E%3C/a>

Here are some fall clothing choices I really like.

daydream believer navy top
Ruche: I really like the detail of this top. The fulness on top and bottom of the shirt would accentuate your waist nicely. If I had a waist.

Forever 21: I think I like this. I don't know. Just the shirt.

let's get away knee high riding boots
Ruche: Boots! I love boots. That's my favourite part about Fall fashion. However, Buzzbee does not share this love. He has a fear of boots. He also thinks that women who wear boots are...high maintenance? definitely not me, but that's his opinion. haha. I still wear them and he loves me just the same.

Forever 21: This would be cute while raking the leaves or sitting out for a bonfire! Love the hat too!
This ensemble says "I don't care what I look like but I know I at least look cute" (That didnt really make a ton of sense but you get my drift)

lumberjack love story plaid shirt
shopruch.com. Nothing says you are ready for cold weather like a plaid flannel shirt. Lumberjack style. I shall get this. Or one similar for a cheaper price. :)

Velvet schoolboy blazer
J Crew: Velvet School boy blazer. I really like this. Of course I cannot afford this exact one but I will let you know if I find one similar.

mustard masterpiece cowl neck scarf
Ruche: This colour is beautiful for fall. I really like this scarf. I bet target has one similar. Although I have too many scarves and just gave some away to GoodWill.

through the woods cottage dress
the green hour one shoulder dress

those were the days embroidered dress

i'll be your crying shoulder dress in black

Last items were all from Ruche. I don't have time to write about them right now. I must be off and pick up Buzzbee from Soccer.

I will most likely finish up this post later. maybe. I have a lot of cleaning to do tonight. And lasagna.

Morning Moments with my friend Jesus

I will let you in on a little of how I try to start off each day. After getting "around" as Buzzbee likes to say. I have never heard that term until I came to Michigan. Anyways, after getting ready I like to make a tea and sit by the window to look out for my ride. While doing this I sip on my tea and talk to Jesus. The sun used to be rising at this time but now its dark. It's a good quiet time that helps me focus my day. When I get to work (watching lil dew drop) I listen to/read Our Daily Bread online. I like it because it is short enough that I can do it while dew drop is just waking up or eating breakfast. Those little devotions always get me thinking.
Today the devotion was about being available for the needs of others because that honours Christ.
The scripture reading is Mark 2:13-17

Jesus Calls Levi and Eats With Sinners
13 Once again Jesus went out beside the lake. A large crowd came to him, and he began to teach them. 14 As he walked along, he saw Levi son of Alphaeus sitting at the tax collector's booth. "Follow me," Jesus told him, and Levi got up and followed him.
15 While Jesus was having dinner at Levi's house, many tax collectors and sinners were eating with him and his disciples, for there were many who followed him. 16 When the teachers of the law who were Pharisees saw him eating with the sinners and tax collectors, they asked his disciples: "Why does he eat with tax collectors and sinners?"
17 On hearing this, Jesus said to them, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners."

As believers we should be ready and available to those who are looking for answers, in need of a helping hand or advice. Sometimes we can get stuck in our own routine and our own families and lives that we become too busy for others and maybe they feel like they don't want to bother you with things because you seem to busy with your own things. This week I am going to try to become more available for the needs of others. It doesn't mean I have to become busy with a lot of outside activities that just can't fit into my schedule right now, but to be more approachable in the places I already am. I will try this at church, while shopping, with friends and family, young marrieds group and anywhere I happen to be. I tend to be shy and some people may think that I am not approachable and so I am going to ask God to give me the strength to push through my shyness and get to know people that he would have me get to know.

What about you? Do you have time for others? Even a quick email to let them know you are there for them. It helps to stay connected to others. Smiling and making small talk with a stranger could offer a sense of approachability, you never know who might be needing someone to talk to.
Do you have any ideas on how we can become more approachable? Especially to those who are lost in this world. We have to be a shining light and beyond that we have to be a light that people are not afraid to talk with and get to know.

I have to go now. Dew Drop is awake and its breakfast time and diaper change..yay! haha..
Have a wonderful day!

Simply Lasagna and Thanksgiving Ideas!

First of all, let's start off a tasty, easy peasy lasagna recipe. I was going to make this delicious meal tonight but something else took place. A nap. It was unexpected but as Buzzbee left for his soccer game he covered me with the blanket on the couch and the next thing I knew it was two hours later and I had fallen asleep. I guess you could classify that as more than a nap. Although it was much needed and Buzzbee wasn't upset that I didn't make the lasagna since he didn't know that's what I was planning. Plus, he's very understanding.
Here is the recipe I was going to use. My mom loves this recipe and she was the one who showed me how to do it. I really love the video because I am more of a visual learner and after watching it once I have it pretty much memorized.
What is so great about this recipe is the fact that you don't have to pre-cook the noodles or used pre-cooked noodles. It's all because we add water to the meat sauce which cooks the noodles and everything together in the oven. So great! And it tastes great too! Can't wait for tomorrow when I make it. Yay!
So here it is! Simply Lasagna from Kraft!

I am getting so excited for Thanksgiving this year and especially for Christmas!
It will be me and Buzzbee' s first Christmas together! I am sooo excited! So right now I will start with a few Thanksgiving ideas.

I have heard that the recipe on the Libby's canned pumpkin is one of the best so I am attempting to make that next week as a trial and if it works out I shall make it for Thanksgiving! Buzzbee's gramma gave us a beautiful polish pottery pie plate that I will use. I will also post the recipe for the pumpkin pie and my great grandma's pie crust recipe. My mom swears by it. So it should be a treat!

Here are a few ideas/inspirations for the Thanksgiving season.

From Marthastewart.com: I want to make this from felt. Cheap and Easy!
Cornhusk votives
Glowing Hurricane Glasses- Wrapped in tissue paper. Cheap, Easy and Beautiful. Gotta love it!

That's all for now. I am off to enjoy my bubble bath. ahhh...can't wait. I love bubble baths with tea and candles. I don't have any matches at the moment so I will have to forgo the candles tonight.
Good night all.
